LAST ANNOUNCEMENT & NOMINATION FORM OF THE 23rd GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF IAPSC - VENUE : ADDIS ABABA, ETHIOPIA, 26 - 28 MARCH 2008
INVITATION & NOMINATION FORM BELOW
samedi 2 février 2008.

The 23rd General Assembly of the National Representatives of Plant Protection Services is a statutory biennial meeting of the AU-IAPSC, scheduled to hold this year at the African Union Commission Headquarters in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

The meeting has been scheduled for 26-28 March 2008 just ahead of the Committee on Phytosanitary Measures (CPM) Meeting in Rome 7-11 April 2008. In this regard, the IAPSC would like to invite National Plant Protection Services representative of member states to kindly attend the African Union Inter-African Phytosanitary Council General Assembly 2008. In addition, the General Assembly 2008 promises to be a watershed in the institutional renewal and rebirth of the AU-IAPSC where salient issues on future strategies of the IAPSC will be discussed. In order to encourage participation of member states, the IAPSC will cover the cost of participation (travel and per diem) of the first representative of each country.

Moreover, it is of particular interest for all African countries representation because strategic decisions on the CPM in Rome will be discussed at the General Assembly. It is hoped that your presence at this General Assembly will allow the emergence of stronger complementary activities between the AU-IAPSC and AU-member states.

Kindly note that a country report is expected to be submitted to AU-IAPSC and to your designated REC representative who shall be contacting you shortly.

Regards

Yemi AKINBAMIJO, PhD - Director (Acting) of IAPSC
